I found this little clipboard (6 1/4" X 4") at my local hobby shop last month and couldn't resist. It will hold a small pad of paper where I'll write my wish list.
Since my daughter is on off school for the March break, I decorated it with Spring Break Designer Series paper. It's a really fun pack of papers. I decided to use the blues and greens but there's also a nice orange mixed in there. I glued the front and back of my mini clipboard with the Tombow glue, sanded the edges and inked in Blue Bayou Classic. I also added the ink on the wood all around the clipboard for a more finished look. There's a piece of Blue Bayou double-stitched grosgrain running across the top, underneath the clip and a few other pieces knotted on the clip. The other ribbons are Whisper White and Mellow Moss Taffeta (on the metal-rimmed tag). The metal-rimmed tag is stamped with a stamp from Office Accoutrement set (Notes de bureau) and is adhered by a Craft Glue Dot. There are some felt flowers at the top to the right and the left of the clip to hide ugly screws and one at the bottom. Then when all of that was done, I used matte Mod Podge to cover the whole thing, even around the knots of the ribbons for added strength. That way, when I press on the clip, nothing moves! It's amazing what you can alter with some papers and a few embellishments... give it a try!!!
